WINCHESTER, VA, December 7, 2022—Warren County hospital executive Jennifer A. Coello, MHA, FACHE, has joined the Board of Directors of Blue Ridge Hospice. Her appointment is part of an ongoing initiative by the Blue Ridge Hospice Board of Directors to expand its size and expertise as the organization continues to grow its service and geographic reach to fulfill its mission of “brightening life’s journey with quality and compassionate care for all whom we are privileged to serve.”
Coello is Vice President of Operations for Valley Health System and Administrator of Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal, Va. In her near 20-year career in hospital administration she has worked for both not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals in Ohio, West Virginia, Georgia, and Virginia.
“I’ve worked at both urban, suburban, and rural hospitals. And I grew up in Arlington in northern Virginia. So I know Virginia well,” Coello said. “I also understand the unique challenges healthcare providers face in providing quality, accessible care in less populated areas and to underserved populations,” she added. “With my position as Administrator of Warren Memorial Hospital and with this appointment to the Blue Ridge Hospice Board of Directors, I plan to continue to advance the great collaboration between Valley Health System and Blue Ridge Hospice, a relationship that dates all the way back to the founding of Blue Ridge Hospice.”
Coello is board certified in healthcare management by the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). She earned her Master of Health Administration at the Medical College of Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va., and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va. She is fluent in written and spoken Spanish as a native speaker.
“Blue Ridge Hospice is indeed fortunate to have an accomplished healthcare administrator and passionate hospice advocate like Jennifer Coello join our Board of Directors,” stated Blue Ridge Hospice President and CEO Cheryl Hamilton Fried. “Warren County is vital to our mission fulfillment; ensuring residents across our service area are aware of the full menu of serious illness, end-of-life care, and grief and bereavement services we provide is vital to our mission fulfillment. Jennifer will help ensure we achieve our mission.”
